PROFRAME RS RTRN HELMET
Fox has launched its new Proframe RS full-face helmet, aimed predominantly at trail, all-mountain and enduro riding. It is also certified for downhill use.
The brand says it incorporates the lightweight breathability of the original Proframe and “takes it to the next level”.
The Proframe RS is the first mountain bike helmet to feature MIPS’ new Integra Split protection system. The system features two layers of foam with a low-friction liner separating them.
The outer layer comprises EPS foam, while the inner uses EPP. The two layers are combined with circular inserts on the inside, which Fox dubs ‘woofers’ and says they allow for 10 to 15mm of relative movement.
The brand says both the inner and outer layers can then move independently from one another and the result is a reduction in the rotational forces experienced in an impact.
As well as improved protection, Fox says it also focused on the fit and ventilation of the helmet.
There are large vent holes on both sides of the helmet, as well as smaller ones up top.
The helmet uses an antimicrobial liner and cheek pads, which the brand says provides optimised comfort and fit. There are two sizes of cheek pad in the box.

Boa provides the helmet retention system, which Fox says allows for precise micro-adjustments. A Fidlock magnetic closure system also features for easy-open and close use, even when wearing gloves, according to Fox.
There’s a three-position adjustable visor, which is said to be compatible with goggles when in its highest position. There is also a removable, under-visor GoPro mount.
